MERLIN’S FINAL NOTE

The life I led was one of adventure and change for my visions I found were not always correct. Thus I did learn to give unto myself peace and rest for none can control all that might come to be within their lives even when they so long to. My body has told me it is time to leave behind the realm of kings and queens, perhaps travel to the shore of Avalon as it is where I found the most happiness and peace in my life.

I remember how in my youth I did think of love once with Vivian even perhaps a child and a home but my visions had other ideas, other paths for me. She once had me enchanted to that point but then her true side did come forth- a side that longed to use my magic against me, long before Arthur and Lancelot, long before Camelot, long before queen Gwen.

Here in Avalon with Vivian I can hopefully live my remaining years in some kind of peace. Perhaps we will find our way back to one another, in a way that doesn’t; find each of us attempting to steal the other’s magic. Perhaps she will be the Vivian I met who saved a babe and raised him- I do not know but the need to write this final note I believe will bring peace to my soul. I do not know but I do not try during these final years will I know.

I will miss the ones who were my friends but the time for wizards has come to pass. It is time for me to fade away before my real time does come to be. Perhaps I will meet my first queen here upon these shores if here she does come to be. This I do not know if it will come to be. Perhaps in death when it did come I would once more meet my beloved mother. These things I did not know. But I am a great wizard and perhaps one day I will return but then again the time of magic no longer has a place within the other realm on her on the isle does it still exist.
